Remembrance Day Ceremony
For Remembrance Day this year, the residents at Alderwood will be participating in a unique ceremony to help honour Canada's military contributions.
Members of the legion will be present at the ceremony and there’ll be a deacon present to help lead the proceedings. Our residents will also be reading a selection of classic and original poems. The ceremony will conclude with the planting of Princess Irene tulips in the flower beds at the front of the building.
Once these rare tulips bloom, a maple leaf appears on the petals. These tulips were designed in Holland as a thank you to Canada for Holland’s liberation and for sheltering the Dutch royal family.
Family and friends are welcome to join us on November 9th at 2:00pm at Alderwood Estates.
